The Type R was the pinnacle of the Integra line. It had many exclusive features found on no other Integra.
The Type R’s B18C5 engine contained more key differences than just some manual assembly steps and an increased redline. The B16A’s cylinder head returned, with differently shaped combustion chambers and intake ports compared to the regular B18C in the GS-R. Molybdenum-coated, high compression pistons and stronger-but-lighter connecting rods strengthened the reciprocating assembly. Two extra counterweights on the crankshaft altered its vibration modes to enhance durability at high RPM. The intake valves were reshaped with a thinner stem and crown that reduced weight and improved flow. The intake ports were given a minor port and polish. Stiffer valve springs resisted float on more aggressive camshafts. Intake air was now drawn from inside the fender well, for a colder, denser charge. That intake fed a short-runner intake manifold with a larger throttle body for better breathing. An improved stainless steel exhaust collector with more gentle merge angles, a change to a larger, consistent piping diameter, flared internal piping in the muffler allowed easier exit of gases. A retuned engine computer also contributed to improve power output.
Several features were removed to reduce weight. There was no cruise control or sunroof. The air conditioning system was optional, and nearly all the sound-dampening material was eliminated. This provided for a much noisier ride, but since the Type R was marketed as a race car for the street, most owners didn’t mind. The 1997 models had no rear wiper; this feature was reinstated for the 1998 and later model years.
Visually, the Type R’s distinguishing exterior features are the color (white on 1998 and earlier cars, black or yellow on 2000 and 2001 models), the aerodynamic enhancements (front air dam, rocker panels, and rear spoiler), and the Type R alloy wheels. The interior was fitted with unique upholstery on the seats (black cloth with red stitching), fake carbon fiber trim around the gauge cluster, a six-speaker Bose stereo system, and a numbered plaque on the center arm rest. Each car also came with a special Type R key in addition to the two master keys and the valet key.
Toru Acura Edit
Akari and Toru are adoptive siblings, raised together since a young age to be trained as saboteurs. Having no living kin, she deeply cherishes her familial bond with Toru. Akari is quite loyal, staying and supporting him after the war despite his initial lazy attitude. When he decides to help Chaika, she unhesitantly chose to follow him, despite the danger. However, she does have her limits, threatening to stuff him when he continued to refuse to work before. Regardless, she greatly cares and loves her brother, although her devotion often borderlines on obsession. Frequently, she imagines wild fantasies regarding her brother, often misreading the situation and labeling him as a big pervert. Long used to her behavior, Toru’s usual response is to either ignore or rebuff her remarks. In spite of their weird dynamic, they remain close and have great faith in each other. They know one another enough that they are able to work as a team, both on and off the battlefield.
Chaika Trabant Edit
In their first meeting, Akari was initially suspicious of Chaika due to a mixture of her mysterious background and closeness with Toru. As a result, she did not like Chaika in the beginning, although that had less to do with Chaika herself and was more a result of Akari’s jealousy of the girl’s perceived relationship with Toru. Akari tends to one sidedly compete with Chaika over her brother, once stating that she would fulfill his sexual desires. However, after traveling together the two have become much closer. Chaika, grateful for Akari’s help, quickly gets along with her and soon they are able fight together as a team in battle. Akari, while sometimes still jealous and suspicious of Chaika, cares deeply for the girl. When Chaika is taken hostage, Akari warmly welcomes her back when she is freed. Overall, they are good friends and are willing to fight for one another.
1980s: The Acura brand
1987 Acura Legend.
In 1987, Acura’s first full year of sales in 1987, they sold 109,000 cars with the flagship Legend sedan accounting for 55,000 sales and the rest were of the smaller Integra. By 1990, Acura was selling 138,000 vehicles, including 54,000 Legends, compared to Mercedes-Benz’s 78,000 cars and 64000 for BMW and Lexus.
1990s: NSX, updates
The Honda NSX, badged as an Acura in certain regions.
First generation Acura Integra
The Acura 3.2 TL.
Despite these letdowns, Acura gained prominence in the 1990s with a young group of customers: «tuner» enthusiasts. Parent company Honda’s reputation with this demographic as a maker of «easy-to-tune» and «rev-happy» engines rubbed off onto Acura, and the Integra became a popular tuner car.
2000-2003: TL, RSX, MDX
The first generation Acura MDX
In 2001, a new coupe, badged as the RSX was introduced to the Acura line up. It was a replacement for the outgoing Integra. The RSX is a rebadged Honda Integra (DC5) from the Japanese market. As a result, the RSX is technically a new generation of the outgoing Integra. Much like the Integra, the RSX was a hit in the tuner market. However, at the end of 2006, the RSX was taken out of the Acura line up, subsequently in the Japanese market as well. It is not known why the RSX did not continue to be sold as the Integra in Japan, however, the reason that Acura gave for the cancellation of the RSX is that Acura wishes to move up in the luxury brand, thus cannot sell a car that is mostly driven by teenagers.
2004-2006: RL, TSX, RDX
The third generation Acura TL
Also around the same time the Acura TSX was introduced as a cheaper alternative to the BMW 3-Series. It was essentially a re-badged European and Japanese-market Honda Accord loaded with features. This model became the only 4-cylinder sedan in Acura’s line-up.
Acura’s new models—particularly the TL and TSX—were well received by the motoring press and became Acura’s top selling vehicles. The TSX was on s Ten Best list from 2004–2006.
The Acura RDX.
In 2006 Acura introduced a small SUV which was based on its own unqiue unibody chassis called the RDX with models becoming available to U.S. consumers in August 2006. It is powered by a turbocharged 240-hp 4-cylinder engine and, like the RL, uses Acura’s SH-AWD system. The model is available in two versions: Premium (the standard offering), and Technology Package (an upgraded offering with a GPS navigation system).
A completely redesigned MDX became available in the fall of 2006 with a 300 hp V6 engine and Super Handling All-Wheel Drive.
Acura re-introduced the TL Type-S for the 2007 model year. 2009 marked the all new TL and TSX models as well as an extensively mid year model update for the RL; all three made their debuts in the 2008 calendar year. Acura planned on redesigning the RL by 2011 as well as announced the creation of a brand new luxury crossover vehicle called the ZDX, previewed by the concept of the same name.
The ZDX was the first Acura designed in Acura’s design studio located at Torrance in Southern California. The ZDX was designed by Michelle Christensen and based on the Acura MDX using that vehicles 3.7 litre V6 engine (300 bhp) and SH-AWD system. A common misconception is that it is based on the Honda Crosstour which was based on the Honda Accord rather than the bigger and more complex underpinnings of the MDX. It is also the first Acura to be completely built in North America. The production model of the ZDX made its debut in the Orange County Auto Show in Southern California on October 15, 2009. The concept behind the ZDX is that it is a «four door coupe,» and the design emphasis of the body of the car is like a «pulled back slingshot.» Another prominent design aspect of the ZDX is the wide rear shoulders above the rear wheels. The ZDX went on sale in December 2009.
Acura announced new TSX wagon in the 2010 New York Auto Show and the car is due to go on sale in Fall of 2010. The wagon version of the TSX is based on the wagon version of the Euro-spec Honda Accord which has been in the European market for some time. No plans for brand new RL have been released to date.
For the 2010 model year the MDX models received some slight exterior changes and increased equipment levels. Mechanically the engine remained unchanged but the transmission was updated from the previous 5-speeds to 6-speeds including steering column mounted shift override paddles. This new transmission was shared with the ZDX.

</p>The Integra Type-R (DC2) was named as the best front-wheel-drive drivers’ car ever by in 2006. The magazine’s Richard Meaden said: «It’s a car as sweet and all-consuming as any I’ve experienced at any price, and as pure and focused in its own way as any Porsche RS. Forget the accolade of greatest front-wheel-drive car. The Integra Type-R ranks as one of the truly great drivers’ cars of any kind.»

Akari rarely shows her emotions, usually showing a blank expression and only talking in a polite manner. However, this is a facade as she is actually a pervert. The only times she shows emotion is either during battles or when interacting with her brother, Toru. Akari «loves» her brother and constantly expresses this «love» to him despite Toru always ignoring or rejecting her advances. Her attachment to her brother can often borderline on obsession, getting jealous whenever Toru interacts with another girl, prompting a violent or competitive reaction. Akari also has a very wild and vivid imagination, often thinking perverse thoughts or jumping to wrong conclusions, usually about her brother or those involved.
Because she was orphaned at a young age, Akari believes in loyalty to one’s family deeply. Thus, she deeply cares and respects her brother despite not being blood-related. After the end of the war, she continues to stay and support him, even though she could have easily found another man to support her. When he decides to follow Chaika, she also chooses to go with him, regardless of the circumstances. However, her devotion does have limits, during the time when he refused to work, she threatened to stuff him if he didn’t change. In battle, Akari has a great trust in her brother, able to work effectively as a team. While fighting, she is usually calm and composed, allowing her to analyze her opponent as she battles, although not to the same extent as Toru. If the fight does become intense, she sometimes become more violent and aggressive.
Outside of her brother, Akari is capable of making rational decisions and interacting with others. While her brother is the only one she truly cares about, she has shown displays of compassion for others. Chaika Trabant, for example, she initially did not accept her at first. However, over time, she has grown to care for Chaika as a dear friend and becomes protective of her.
Akari is a fairly tall woman, being almost as tall as Toru. She has thick green hair that stands bulbously on the top and tied into a pony tail at the back. Her attire consists of a pink mini skirt that exposes her hips and a top that lacks shoulders with a low neckline. She also has stockings that match her skirt in color, white knee-length boots with the heels and toes brown, and a yellow knife holder strapped to her behind. She is usually seen carrying her comblade sledgehammer both on and off the battlefield.
Iron-Blood transformation Edit
When in the Iron-blood transformation, her hair becomes red like her Toru’s with crimson markings appear on her face and body. Unlike her brother’s marking, hers are less elaborate and thinner as well, appearing as two sets of vertical lines appearing on the upper and lower sections of her forehead and cheeks.
The announced version includes the 3,664 cc (3.664 L; 223.6 cu in) SOHC VTEC V6 all-aluminum engine rated 300 bhp (220 kW) at 6300 rpm and 270 lb·ft (366 N·m) at 4500 rpm, 6-speed automatic transmission, Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD), 19-inch, 7-spoke alloy wheels, panoramic glass roof with movable sunshades, hand-stitched leather interior, HandsFreeLink Bluetooth connectivity, power tailgate, and a high-powered audio system with CD player, AM/FM/XM Satellite Radio and USB audio interface with iPod integration. Sales began in winter 2009.
2010 Acura ZDX
Technology Package adds the Navigation System with voice recognition, an Acura/ELS Surround premium audio system and a new multi-view rear camera. Advance Package adds blind spot monitoring system, Collision Mitigating Braking System (CMBS), and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC).
United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) fuel consumption estimates for all models are 16 mpg-US (15 L/100 km; 19 mpg-imp) in the city, 22 mpg-US (11 L/100 km; 26 mpg-imp) on the highway and 19 mpg-US (12 L/100 km; 23 mpg-imp) combined.
Raised as a saboteur from a young age, Akari possesses many abilities and skills that allows her to do numerous jobs, both on and off the battlefield.
High Physicality: Akari has extremely high physical abilities which includes above average strength, speed, instincts, reflexes, flexibility, and stamina. Her strength and stamina allows her to hold her Comblade sledgehammer with one hand, as well move at fast paces without slowing down even while carrying her weapon. - Hammer Fighting Style: Having a Comblade sledgehammer as her main weapon, Akari is very skilled in using the hammer to fight. Her style emphasizes on close range fighting, inflicting heavy damage through brute force and power. Despite the weight of the sledgehammer, Akari is able to single handedly wield it and move agilely without impediment
- Stealth & Reconnaissance: Akari is skillfully experienced in both stealth and reconnaissance. Her time as a saboteur has taught her how to scout enemy forts and infiltrate the compound without detection. She is able to hide her presence quickly and effectively, allowing her to spy on enemies or escape without a trace. Outside the field of battle, Akari is skilled in gathering information and resources while traveling. Over the years, she has built a network of information, gathering info through women’s gossip sessions, much to her brother’s dismay. Despite her source, she has stated that it’s ambiguous nature allows her to infer details with enough quantity.
- Comblade Sledgehammer: A sledgehammer that has a spike on one end of the head. It can change the length of it’s handle for carrying in her leather scabbard.
- Throwing Knives: Small throwing knives Akari can use to attack from a distance.
- Poisoned Needles: In the anime, she used a poisoned needle on Fredrika that slowly weakened her greatly.
- Explosive Kunais: Kunais with explosives built into the handle which is triggered by a timer that is set to explode after a short amount of time.
